(Grand Forks, ND) -- A Grand Forks man accused of multiple crimes stemming from a car chase earlier this year has pleaded not guilty.

Justin Peterson is accused of leading police on a pursuit in March after an officer smelled marijuana inside his vehicle during a traffic stop. Peterson crashed into a telephone pole and a laundromat, and was arrested after he fled on foot and fell into the Red River. Police say they found about 180 grams of meth and nearly 37 grams of marijuana in Peterson's backpack.

Peterson faces several fleeing and drug-related charges.
