UPDATE – The North Dakota Highway Patrol says a woman died in a head-on crash on Interstate 29 two-and-a-half miles north of Thompson Monday afternoon.
Authorities say a car driven by an 83-year-old Aneta, North Dakota woman was going the wrong way in the northbound lanes and collided with an SUV driven by a 42-year-old Grand Forks man. Troopers say the woman wasn’t wearing her seat belt and died at the scene. The man was taken to a Grand Forks hospital with serious injuries.
Northbound I-29 was closed for about two hours as troopers investigated and cleared the crash.

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (Valley News Live) – Multiple vehicles were involved in a crash on I-29 near Grand Forks Monday afternoon.
Northbound Interstate 29 near Thompson is closed and law enforcement is rerouting vehicles to go around the crash. Thompson Police, the Grand Forks County Sheriff’s Office and North Dakota Highway Patrol are on scene.
