Minnesota State University Moorhead women’s basketball assistant coach Allison Swenson has been elevated to the programs Associate Head Women’s Basketball Coach.
Swenson is entering her 18th season coaching the Dragon women’s basketball program in 2025-26. Since joining the coaching staff in the 2008-09 season, she has coached 17 NSIC All-Conference post players, including 14 first team selections. This past season Swenson helped guide Terryn Johnson to her second consecutive All-NSIC Second Team honor. During the 2024-25 season the Dragons had a plus 4.6 rebounding advantage and allowed the third fewest points per game in the Northern Sun (65.3).
Swenson is also the program’s recruiting director. She will be joined by Karla Nelson who is entering her 26th season leading the MSUM women’s basketball program in 2025-26.
