Fargo North announces Zens as new boys basketball head coach

There is a new leader in the Fargo North boys basketball program. Activities Director Dan Shultis announced that Paul Zens is being elevated to the programs next Head Boys Basketball Coach.

Zens has been apart of the Fargo North athletics community for nearly a decade. He helps coach and mentor student-athletes year round, coaching middle school track and field, serving as an assistant varsity football coach, and spending the past nine years coaching basketball. Zens has been the Boyd JV basketball coach for the past five seasons.

During the announcement Zens spoke on his new opportunity saying, “I will strive to build a team-first culture where relationships come first—between players, coaches, and the community. My aim is to develop not just better basketball players, but better young men. My hope is that the lessons learned in Fargo North athletics last far beyond their time spent as Fargo North athletes.”

Athletic Director Dan Shultis expressed his confidence in Coach Zens’ leadership, “We are thrilled to have Coach Zens lead our program moving forward. His hard work and dedication have carried him into this position, and I look forward to working alongside him.”
