SAINT PAUL, Minn. – Minnesota officials say they will hold lotteries for cannabis licenses on June 5.
The Office of Cannabis Management says they include licenses for cultivators, manufacturers and “mezzobusinesses'” which grow, buy and sell cannabis and cannabis products.
The department will also hold a retailer license lottery on the same day for social equity applicants.
That category includes veterans, those living in high-poverty areas and people harmed by cannabis prohibition.
Tribes have already been selling cannabis in Minnesota including White Earth which has a store in Mahnomen. The tribe is also opening up a location in the former Moorhead JL Beers.
