(JAMESTOWN, ND) – Five people suffered injuries after a pursuit and crash Sunday in Stutsman County.
The North Dakota Highway Patrol responded Sunday morning to reports of a reckless driver eastbound on I-94. A Monte Carlo, matching the description, was located near mile marker 242 going eastbound. A traffic stop was initiated after the driver, an 18-year-old Bismarck man, committed driving violations. The vehicle sped away at speeds exceeding 100 miles per hour, the Patrol said.
The pursuit was later terminated.
Jamestown Police located the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop, with the vehicle crashing a short time later at the intersection of 10th Street and 7th Avenue SE. A pickup was involved.
The unidentified driver in the car was charged with fleeing, DUI – drugs and reckless endangerment. Three juvenile passengers were injured, and the pickup driver was later treated for reported injuries.
The incident is under investigation.
