WASHINGTON – Minnesota Democratic Senator Amy Klobuchar believes the only people stopping a constitutional crisis in the United States are federal judges.
“Over 100 of them, including multiple Trump-appointed judges, have stood up and said ‘This is unconstitutional. You can’t steal people’s private data and social security, Elon Musk,” Klobuchar told NBC’s Meet the Press on Sunday.
“You cannot freeze funds for medical research that a Democratic and Republican Congress have already allocated for lifesaving cancer trials.’ It’s a stress test on our constitution, for sure.”
President Trump and Musk, who has headed up the Department of Government Efficiency or “DOGE” for short, argue their efforts are about trimming government spending for the country and the taxpayer’s benefit.
Klobuchar says she wants to see Republicans stand up to Trump on tariffs instead of being “a rubber stamp” on his agenda.
