Portion of Broadway to close next week to install removable bollards

FARGO, N.D. – Downtown Fargo will have a vehicle barrier system.

The intersection of Broadway and 2nd Avenue North will close beginning Monday, May 19 for road repairs to install removable bollards on 2nd Avenue North. That’s in the Broadway Square area. The city says the closure is expected to take up to one-and-a-half weeks.

Officials with the Downtown Community Partnership requested the bollards to protect pedestrians during large public gatherings. Executive Director Rocky Schneider says it’s crucial to have them to prevent possible vehicle attacks, like the New Orleans incident on New Year’s Day.
