REGION – Recent heavy rains across the region have impacted the level of the Red River of the North.
The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Warning for the Red River in Clay and Cass Counties, effective from Thursday afternoon through next Wednesday.
The weather service says the Red River at Fargo is expected to rise above flood stage, which is 18 feet, Thursday afternoon before cresting at 20 feet on Saturday morning. At that time, it’ll begin falling until, late Tuesday morning, it falls below flood stage.
Minor flooding is also forecast on the Red River at Wahpeton, Hickson, Drayton and Pembina in North Dakota, and Halstad, East Grand Forks and Oslo in Minnesota.
