MAPLE GROVE, MINN – A Maple Grove, Minn., legislator says she was one of the legislators in who suspected shooter Vance Boelter visited during a shooting spree that killed Minnesota House Speaker Emerita Melissa Hortman and her husband Mark, along with injuring Senator John Hoffman and his wife, Yvette.
State Representative Kristin Bahner, who has served in the legislature since 2018, representing District District 37B.
“This senseless violence came to my door as well, placing me and my family in harm’s way,” Bahner said on Facebook. “I do not know why this man was filled with such hatred that he would come to my door; divine intervention led my family to change our plans keeping us safe.”
Senator Ann Rest, representing Senate District 43 in Crystal, Golden Valley, New Hope, Robbinsdale, and Plymouth, also identified herself as one who was targeted by Boelter.
