The Minnesota Lynx fell to the Washington Mystics 68-64 in our nation’s capital on Tuesday evening.
Minnesota was still without star forward Napheesa Collier who is recovering from a lower back injury. The Lynx had a one point lead entering the fourth quarter, but were outscored 14-9 in the final frame.
Alanna Smith paced Minnesota with 26 points, six blocks, and five rebounds. Jessica Shepard added 12 points, 15 rebounds, and four assists.
The Lynx committed 19 turnovers in the loss, falling to 12-2 on the season. Minnesota will return to the hardwood on Friday night in Atlanta against the Dream with tip-off scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
