FARGO, N.D. (Valley News Live) – A Fargo man is facing charges after he allegedly suffocated his girlfriend, making her fear for her life.
Dominic Murek is facing aggravated assault, domestic violence and terrorizing charges.
On July 2, around 11:20 p.m., Fargo Police say they took a report of a domestic situation at an apartment in Fargo.
Documents say the victim told officers that Murek was her boyfriend, and that the two got into a physical altercation that same day around 5:30 p.m.
According to documents, Murek pushed the victim up against the wall in their kitchen, and placed his hand over her mouth. Documents say Murek started yelling, saying “give me a reason not to kill you now.”
Documents say Murek then covered the victim’s mouth and nose. The victim stated that she was unable to breathe for close to thirty seconds. Documents also say at one point Murek grabbed onto the victim’s arm leaving visible bruising.
The victim told police she was able to seperate from Murek and escape into their bedroom. Documents say Murek followed her, and pushed her on top of moving boxes before placing his hand over her mouth again.
When speaking to police, the victim said that she believed Murek would kill her because of his actions and the words he was saying to her.
