FARGO, ND – Leaders within the Fargo community are updating the public on the investigation into two early Sunday morning fatal shootings in Fargo.
The Fargo Police Department responded to two separate incidents – the first just before 2 a.m. in the 50 block of Broadway, where three adults sustained gunshot wounds – one fatal, another who is still in critical condition and a third who sustained non-life-threatening injuries. The second call came less than 30 minutes later in the 4700 block of 16th Avenue South, where one person was found to have suffered a fatal injury. No other injuries were reported in the second incident.

“We all awoke this morning to shocking developments in Fargo. While we are assuredly shaken, I want to reiterate that Fargo is a safe community with a steadfast, dedicated and well-equipped police force that will tirelessly investigate these homicides,” Fargo Mayor Dr. Tim Mahoney said in a statement. “I am asking for the public’s patience as FPD does its work by uncovering the facts and not the hype. Fargo remains a unified community that values safety, cares about one another and stands together in trying times.”
The Fargo Police Department continues to investigate the incidents.
“A significant amount of work is underway to gather evidence, conduct interviews and determine the sequence of events that led to this incident. We understand the community wants answers, and we’re committed to doing the work needed,” Fargo Police Chief Dave Zibolski said. “Our detectives are actively pursuing leads and gathering evidence. We continue to encourage anyone with information to come forward so we can hold those involved accountable.”
The police department’s Criminal Investigations Division is actively working to investigate the incidents, saying its unknown if the shootings are connected. Detectives are working to determine any potential links.
