West Fargo, N.D. – A man is in custody after speeding away during a traffic stop Thursday night in West Fargo.
Authorities say 43-year old Jake Curtis Baumann was driving a stolen vehicle near the 800 block of Main Avenue East.
Police say the vehicle was reported stolen last week.
Baumann allegedly sped away, but was eventually stopped when police rammed into his car in the 1200 block of Main.
Baumann then jumped out of the vehicle and tried to run but was quickly captured.
He was booked into the Cass County Jail on a host of charges:
– Felony fleeing a peace officer
– Felony theft of a motor vehicle
– Felony possession of methamphetamine
– Preventing arrest
– Probation violation and outstanding warrants
The stolen vehicle was also returned to the owner.
