Lee’s grand slam powers Twins past Tiger

The Minnesota Twins salvaged their series finale with an 8-1 win over the Detroit Tigers.

Thomas Hatch only gave up one run over five innings, earning the win. Michael Tonkin, Cole Sands, Genesis Cabrera, and Erasmo Ramirez tossed a scoreless inning apiece out of the bullpen.

Brooks Lee led the offensive attack with a grand slam, Minnesota’s first this season. Byron Buxton and Royce Lewis added solo home runs. Kody Clemens chipped in an RBI.

The Twins are off on Monday before welcoming the Athletics to Target Field for a midweek series beginning on Tuesday night.
