North Dakota – U.S. Rep. Julie Fedorchak took part in an annual bipartisan trip to Israel comprising of freshman members of Congress.
“You can read, you can meet with experts in the U.S., but I tell you to go some place to see for your own eyes and ask questions…you really can appreciate it,” Fedorchak told The Flag after returning home following the seven day trip in August.

Along the way during the visit, Fedorchak toured the Yad Vashem Holocaust memorial, met with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to discuss the war in Gaza, and also heard from former heads of Israel’s air defense and military intelligence on Iran’s role in fueling regional instability.
Fedorchak says there’s a “real chance for peace” in the Middle East by building on the Abraham Accords, which is a series of agreements to normalize relations between Israel and the Arab world.
And Fedorchak believes the key to getting there is by resolving the Israel-Hamas conflict.
“This ‘Free Palestine’ movement is largely misunderstood,” said Fedorchak. “We should be freeing Palestine from Hamas and end the war.”
Fedorchak is hoping the conflict will come to a close “in the next six months” so all sides can get back to “broader negotiations” for peace.
