Bill Ahlfeldt sworn in as Moorhead Police Department’s Assistant Chief

MOORHEAD, MINN. (Valley News Live) – Former Fargo Police Captain Bill Ahlfeldt was sworn in as the Assistant Police Chief for the Moorhead Police Department during the city council meeting Monday night.

Shortly after being sworn in by Mayor Shelly Carlson, the newly minted Assistant Chief shared a few words, “I just appreciate the opportunity for the ability to come here to the city of Moorhead to serve as your Assistant Chief.”

“Started today, I have a lot to learn about the city and how the city works and about everyone at the agency, but I’m fully committed obviously to doing that and looking how I’ll fit in the city and what we can do as a team Chief Helmick to make the Moorhead Police Department even better than what it is today.”

Ahlfeldt was with Fargo for over 20 years where he served as night sergeant, patrol lieutenant and helped oversee the criminal investigations division.
