FARGO, ND – NDSU’s first-day enrollment is up from last fall.
University officials say 11,954 students were welcomed to campus for the first day of classes on Monday. This represents a one-percent increase compared to the same day last year. The university is also experiencing a three-percent increase in first-time freshmen and in transfer students, plus a one-percent increase in graduate enrollment.
Officials say the early numbers offer a glimpse into the impact of recent initiatives and the energy surrounding the start of the academic year. President David Cook says the increase ‘is more than a number’ as it reflects on the opportunities students find at NDSU.
Official enrollment numbers will be finalized on census day, which is September 22.
