Fargo, N.D. – The Fargo Police Department is investigating what they’re calling a “potential threat” against a school or shopping center, although authorities say no specific location related to Fargo was named in the threat.
Authorities say the threat was received early on Wednesday, August 27th, which is the first day of school for public school students.
“The FPD, in collaboration with federal partners, immediately launched an investigation to determine the credibility of the threat and to attempt to identify the individual responsible,” the statement read.
“At this time, the FPD has no actionable information to validate the legitimacy of the threat and is alerting the public as a precaution.”
Police say they were already set to increase their presence around schools since the new school year was starting.
The public is also asked to report any suspicious activity by calling 9-1-1.
