CASS COUNTY, N.D. – Cass County is getting the word out about their effort to control noxious weeds through the fall season.
Cass County Weed Control says spraying will take place along county and state roadways. The public is told to look out for equipment along road shoulders and ditches.
The spraying will target Leafy spurge, Canada thistle, Absinth wormwood and other noxious weeds.
Any landowners are being advised to hold off for several days on mowing after spraying is conducted in ditches to let the herbicide settle in.
The county is also accepting applications for a reimbursement program that will partially pay landowners who conduct their own weed control in “pastures, rangelands and other non-crop and non-CRP lands.”
Up to $1800 in reimbursement money per landowner is available.
Applications need to be submitted by October 31.
