Students plan walkouts nationwide calling for action after Annunciation school shooting

UNITED STATES – Nationwide student walkouts are set for Friday, September 5 in response to the Annunciation Catholic School shooting in Minneapolis.

It’s being organized by several groups, including Students Demand Action.

Organizers say they are protesting gun violence and want elected officials to protect students in schools and places of worship.

According to the SDA website, there are no walkouts scheduled in North Dakota. The closest events planned to our area in Minnesota are at Brainerd High School and St. John’s Preparatory School in Collegeville.

A shooter opened fire on a school mass, killing two children and injuring 21 people on August 27.
