PHOENIX, AZ – For the first time since being assassinated, Charlie Kirk’s wife spoke publicly on Friday night.
Kirk, whose show has been heard locally on AM 1100 The Flag WZFG in Fargo and AM 1090 The Flag KTGO in Tioga since 2021, died Wednesday after being assassinated while speaking on the Utah State University campus for a Turning Point USA event. He had been scheduled to return to North Dakota next month for an event at the University of North Dakota, which would have marked his seventh trip to the state.
“I first want to thank the local, state and federal law enforcement, who worked tirelessly to capture my husband’s assassin, so that he can be brought to justice,” Erika Kirk said Friday night.
She addressed those responsible for the assassination.
“The evildoers responsible for my husband’s assassination have no idea what they have done,” Erika said. “They killed Charlie because he preached a message of patriotism, faith and of God’s merciful love. But they should all know this. If you thought that my husband’s mission was powerful before, you have no idea. You have no idea what you’ve just unleashed across this entire country.”
She continued, “You have no idea the fire you have ignited within this wife. The cries of this widow will echo around the world like a battle cry.”
Erika went on to thank the first responders, who she said ‘struggled heroically’ to save Kirk’s life, along with the police ‘who acted bravely to make sure there were no other victims on that terrible afternoon.’
Officers have also been protecting the Turning Point USA family, according to Kirk, in the days since the assassination.
Speaking from the Charlie Kirk Show studio, she thanked the staff who made the show happen daily, while gripping onto the chair where her husband sat daily to host the show.
“Every day, he loved it,” she said. “He loved what he did.”
Millions of people across America have shown their love for Kirk, including those on our airwaves on The Flag.
“I think the voices will get stronger, there will be outrage over this, and more and more people will come to follow what Charlie believed and what we believe here at The Flag,” Need To Know Morning Show co-host Alex Taylor said earlier this week.
Scott Hennen, host of What’s On Your Mind, called Kirk ‘a very gracious soul.’
“He was a dear friend of ours,” he said.
Need To Know Morning Show and What’s On Your Mind co-host Kevin Flynn, fighting back tears, said the country ‘is in trouble.’
“We’re in trouble as a country, as a people,” he said. “We’re in trouble.”
Kirk’s body was returned to Arizona from Utah aboard Air Force Two with Vice President JD Vance and his wife, Usha, aboard.
“You guys honored my husband so well bringing him home,” Erika said. “You both are tremendous.”
She also thanked President Donald Trump and his family, saying Kirk loved him.
“And he knew that you loved him, too,” Kirk said. “Your friendship was amazing.”
Funeral arrangements have not been set for Kirk.
