Arbor Day to be celebrated Monday in Fargo

FARGO – An Arbor Day celebration is set Monday in Fargo.

It’ll kick off the city forestry department’s fall planting activities. Those activities include 300 tree replacements across the city.

Mayor Dr. Tim Mahoney will read a proclamation, and two trees planted at a program beginning at 2 p.m. at the city’s new Public Works Administration Building. The tree plantings will be part of the landscaping improvements at the building.

Additionally, Reforest the Red will be held Wednesday in collaboration with Fargo Parks and River Keepers.

The City of Fargo was named a Tree City USA for the 48th time by the Arbor Day Foundation.
