WASHINGTON – The United States Senate has confirmed a North Dakotan to a spot within Interior Secretary Doug Burgum’s department.
After the Senate approved a measure Thursday allowing several of President Donald Trump’s nominees to be confirmed en bloc, or all together at the same time, former North Dakota Department of Water Resources head Andrea Travnicek will now serve in the Trump Administration. She has been confirmed as the Department of the Interior’s Assistant Secretary for Water and Science.
“President Trump’s nominees have faced historic obstruction with not a single one of them this term being confirmed by UC or voice vote. President Trump deserves to have his team in place and this measure allows the Senate to confirm nominees who have been favorably reported out of committee en bloc,” said Hoeven. “We now have approved 48 more of President Trump’s nominees, including North Dakota’s Andrea Travnicek as Assistant Secretary at the Interior Department.”
