FARGO, N.D. – The public is being asked to provide input into an effort to “refresh and expand” public amenities in downtown Fargo.
According to a press release, the Downtown Community Partnership is looking to shore up benches, putting up more signage to better help pedestrians find where they’re going and “expanding public seating into more areas beyond Broadway.”
DCP, which also oversees the Business Improvement District, says it’s working closely with the city and contracted Confluence.
Confluence is a firm that assists with landscape architecture, urban design and planning projects.
“Public seating and pedestrian amenities are essential to a vibrant Downtown,” DCP Executive Director Rocky Schneider said in a written statement.
“Thanks to the investments of our local businesses through the BID, Fargo has more benches, public art, and public seating than anywhere else in the region.”
Schneider says the idea behind the effort is to ensure “the entire district feels welcoming, accessible, and alive.”
