MOORHEAD – Police arrested three people Friday as part of an ongoing investigation.
Moorhead Police say they assisted the Metro Street Crimes Unit in the 1400 block of 20th Street South Friday related to an investigation into a violent offender.
The Metro Street Crimes Unit was attempting to locate 25-year-old Dennis Salinas Jr., who was wanted in connection with a shooting in Fargo on September 17. Investigators were able to identify an apartment where he was believed to be located.
Due to Salinas Jr.’s violent criminal past and active warrants, the Red River SWAT team was requested to assist in ensuring a safe and controlled operation. They executed a tactical entry into the apartment and detained several individuals, including Salinas Jr.
During the operation, an officer observed an item being thrown from the balcony, which was later recovered and identified as a firearm.
In addition to arresting Salinas Jr., authorities also arrested 20-year-old Andrew Collison and 27-year-old Heather Badar on unrelated outstanding warrants.
