BISMARCK – North Dakota has 40 new attorneys.
The attorneys were admitted to the North Dakota State Bar during a ceremony Friday in the House chambers of the North Dakota State Capitol in Bismarck.
Among the speakers Friday was North Dakota Governor Kelly Armstrong. The Governor, who himself was once a criminal defense attorney, encouraged the new lawyers as they began their careers.
Justices Douglas Bahr, Daniel Crothers, Lisa McEvers and Jerod Tufte, along with Chief Justice Jon Jensen, also gave welcome remarks.
A total of 63 applicants took the North Dakota Bar Exam, which began in July.
