Charlie Kirk’s assassin to appear in court in late October

PROVO, UTAH – The man accused of assassinating Charlie Kirk was back in court today in Provo, Utah.

Tyler Robinson is charged with aggravated murder in the killing of Kirk on the Utah Valley University campus earlier this month. Kirk was on campus for the first stop of his The American Comeback Tour, which has since been renamed The Turning Point Tour. He died later after being taken to the hospital for injuries in the shooting.

At Monday’s hearing, the next date was set for the hearing. It’ll be October 30th, and both sides agreed that Robinson will be allowed in-person for the hearing.

“Regardless of who is watching, we must fill our roles with integrity,” the judge told both sides.

Chad Grunander, representing the Utah County Attorney’s Office, said there’s ‘a substantial amount of discovery’ in the case.

“It’s voluminous, to say the least,” he said as he addressed the fact that the prosecutor and defense are working on processes to share the information between offices.

He’s possibly facing the death penalty, according to prosecutors.
