Four North Dakota State Bison have earned weekly Missouri Valley Football Conference honors.
Starting quarterback Cole Payton earned the MVFC Offensive Player of the Week honor. He completed 14-of-18 passes for 273 yards and two touchdowns. Payton added 11 carries for 102 yards and one touchdown on the ground.
Linebacker Nate Starling was named the MVFC Defensive Player of the Week. He racked up five tackles and secured his first career pick six.
Wide receiver and return specialist Jackson Williams earned the MVFC Special Teams Player of the Week honor. He totaled 107 all purpose yards. He caught one pass for 35 yards with three returns for 63 yards.
Griffin Empey earned the MVFC Offensive Lineman of the Week honor. He played 66 snaps with no penalties grading out at 94 percent. Empey also helped NDSU rush for 274 yards and four touchdowns with an average of 5.5 yards per carry.
No. 1 NDSU will visit No. 6 Illinois State on Saturday at 6 p.m. in the Missouri Valley Game of the Week.
