Local pregnancy care center holding annual fundraiser Oct. 13th

FARGO, N.D. – The Perry Center is hosting their annual fundraiser in October to help continue their work assisting women through unexpected pregnancies.

The Christian-based center’s mission offers support and care in the form of continuing education, counseling, along with parenting and pregnancy classes.

The center will host its fundraiser at Fargo’s Hilton Garden Inn on Monday Oct. 13 at 7 p.m..

“We’re in a pretty fun season of growth and expanding our facilities,” Executive Director Nathaniel Douglas tells The Flag. “With that comes excitement and challenges.”

The center, which is currently at 2345 Meadow Ridge Parkway on the border of Fargo and West Fargo, is about to expand from 9 to 33 bedrooms with expected completion in November.

“It’s so much more than a shelter,” said Douglas.  “The need is great because what we offer is a life transformation program.”

Douglas says the fundraiser is also free of charge featuring food, announcements and keynote speakers.

One of the speakers is Kim Eliot, who will share her testimony about carrying on with her pregnancy after being raped at the age of 26.

“We want to make sure it’s an opportunity for everybody,” says Douglas.  “We know the dollars will come but we want everyone to come, hear the stories and celebrate what’s happening in our city.”
