Fargo man arrested for making death threats at grocery store

FARGO, N.D. (Valley News Live) – A Fargo man was arrested Friday morning after allegedly making death threats while holding knives at a local grocery store, according to court documents.

Zachary Berry-Koppang was taken into custody at approximately 9:52 a.m. Oct. 4 at the Cashwise store at 1401 33rd St. S after officers responded to a disturbance call.

According to the police report, Berry-Koppang made threatening statements, including “I’m going to murder you” and “I’m going to murder people,” while holding knives in his hands. A witness told police that she was ‘terrified’.

Officers found Berry-Koppang inside the store and detained him. During a pat-down search, police discovered large knives concealed in his pockets. The knives were logged into evidence.

Berry-Koppang was arrested and transported to Cass County Jail. He is now charged with terrorizing with a dangerous weapon and is set to be arraigned on October 6.
