‘Energized electrical fire’ controlled Tuesday in South Fargo

FARGO, N.D. (Valley News Live) – Crews responded to the scene of an “energized electrical fire” in the 3400 block of University Dr. S. on Tuesday.

According to the Fargo Fire Department, the fire was called out around 5:10 p.m. on October 7.

Upon arrival, fire crews found an exterior electrical meter that was on fire, with part of the building also in flames.

Crews managed to get the fire under control, but crews remained on scene until a utility crew arrived to turn off the power. Once the power was shut off, the fire was finally extinguished.

Nearby roads were closed for a time as crews gained control of the fire.

Officials say no one was hurt in the blaze, and the exact cause of the fire remains unknown. Estimated damage is also unknown.
