EAGAN, Minn. – Minnesota Vikings Head Coach Kevin O’Connell announced former Bison quarterback Carson Wentz will start against the Los Angeles Chargers on Thursday Night Football.
During a press conference at TCO Performance Center, O’Connell said rookie J.J. McCarthy was put through an on-field workout on Tuesday, Oct. 21 to see if he had a chance to play.
“J.J., the medical staff, myself, we’re all kind of encouraged about where he’s at and the progress he’s making, but he’s just not there. If this was a Sunday game, maybe it would be a little bit of a different story,” O’Connell explained.
The Vikings take on the Chargers Thursday night at 7:15 on Prime Video and on Fox in the Minneapolis-St. Paul TV market.
