(Minneapolis, MN) — Byron Buxton is earning recognition for his strong season at the plate.
The Twins center fielder was named a finalist for the American League Silver Slugger Award on Thursday. The Silver Slugger is given to the best hitter at each position in each league. Buxton hit .264 with 35 home runs, 83 RBI’s, and 24 stolen bases in 126 games last season.
The award winners will be announced next month.
