WATFORD CITY – A fire has caused the release of brine and skim oil near Watford City.
The North Dakota Department of Mineral Resources says the fire happened Thursday at the Bosque Brice SWD 1 injection well site on Bear Den Road.
Bosque Water Systems reported Thursday that 2000 barrels of brine and 500 barrels of skim oil were released into containment.
The North Dakota Department of Environmental Quality has sent an inspector to the site and has reported no off-pad contamination. The North Dakota Oil and Gas Division’s inspector has also been to the site and will monitor any additional required cleanup of the site.
