FARGO – Fargo Police are releasing new details regarding last night’s homicide.
The victim is identified as 28-year-old Nadine Khoury.
Police say he died as a result of gunshot injuries. He leaves behind a pregnant wife, mother, sister and other family members.
Officers responded to an apartment complex in the 2700 block of 41st Street South, near the Anderson Softball Complex. Officers found Khoury with an apparent gunshot wound. He was in one of the building’s stairwells and a bystander was providing aid. Officers relieved the bystander until it was cleared for fire and ambulance crews to arrive.
Khoury is not believed to have lived in the apartment complex.
Monday’s homicide is likely related to a shots fired call from this past weekend in south Fargo. Authorities say they believe the victim was present, though his involvement is under investigation.
Captain Matt Christensen said initial information from a witness described the suspect as a black male wearing a black shirt and gray sweatpants.
No firearm was recovered from the scene, but firearm casings were recovered near the victim and will be run through the department’s NIBIN machine for database correlation.
Khoury appeared to sustain several gunshot wounds, which will be confirmed when an autopsy is performed Wednesday.
No suspects have been detained, although police say people of interest have been identified. Christensen said officers are working to distinguish between witnesses, suspects and uninvolved persons.
