(Minneapolis, MN) — The Minnesota House Speaker is running for governor. Lisa Demuth will face-off against incumbent Tim Walz.
Demuth is the highest-ranking state Republican to launch a campaign for the governor’s seat. Republicans believe Walz is vulnerable as he seeks a third consecutive four-year term after a failed run for vice president.
State DFL chair Richard Carlbom called Demuth “the corporate candidate in this race,” saying she would prioritize tax cuts for corporations.
