Minnesota State University Moorhead had a pair of players honored by the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference for their performances in the Dragons’ 49-21 win over Bemidji State.
Quarterback Jack Strand earned the NSIC Offensive Player of the Week honor. He completed 32-of-42 passes for 366 yards and seven touchdowns. His seven passing TD’s broke the MSUM record and tied the NSIC record in a single-game. This is Strand’s second POTW honor this season.
Defensive back McKale Pierson has been named the NSIC’s Defensive Player of the Week. He recorded five tackles along with two interceptions. Pierson also added 82 kick return yards in three returns.
The Dragons ended a five-game losing streak to Bemidji State with the win… Earning a victory in the Battle Axe rivalry game for the first time since November 3, 2018.
MSUM will now welcome Jamestown to Scheels Field for the 2025 home finale (Senior Day) on Saturday, November 7. Kickoff will be scheduled for 12 p.m. with the pregame beginning at 11 a.m. on AM 1100 / FM 92.3 The Flag.
