Twins introduce manager Sheldon

(Minneapolis, MN) — The Minnesota Twins new manager spoke to the media for the first time on Tuesday. Derek Shelton told reporters at his introductory press conference that being away from baseball the last six months has allowed him to become a better manager.

Shelton was fired by the Pirates early in the 2025 season. He said that he’s learned a lot about himself and about the game since his dismissal, highlighting different things he could have done differently in Pittsburgh.

Shelton takes over for Rocco Baldelli, who was fired by the Twins in September.
