Former Moorhead Police officer dies after lengthy cancer battle

MOORHEAD – A former Moorhead Police officer has died after a long battle with cancer.

Brad Schenck, who served with the Moorhead Police Department for 16 years, died Saturday, according to the Moorhead Police Department.

Schenck was diagnosed with Grade 2-3 Oligodendroglioma, a malignant brain cancer, in 2016. Two years after being diagnosed, he returned to his job.

Then, six months later, a seizure led to a diagnosis that the cancer returned.

Services are pending and are entrusted to the Korsmo Funeral and Cremation Service in Moorhead.
