Fargo City Commission delays annexation vote for Applied Digital land

FARGO – A potential move by the Fargo City Commission to annex land owned by Applied Digital is being delayed.

The Fargo City Commission held a public meeting Monday night to hear protests regarding the City’s plan to annex the land into the City of Fargo.

“Fargo has no legal claim to it,” Nick Phillips, Executive Vice President at Applied Digital, said.

He said 100 percent of property owners oppose the annexation.

Harwood Mayor Blake Hankey said the City of Harwood also opposes it – and called out the City of Fargo.

“We don’t want Fargo’s help,” he said. “We didn’t ask for Fargo’s help.”

Two other annexations were discussed.

Any votes on annexation were delayed two weeks by the Fargo City Commission as all sides hope to come together to discuss the issue, including any landowners that would be impacted by the annexation.
