Minnesota sees a sharp drop in amount of kindergarteners vaccinated for measles

MINNESOTA – State health officials say Minnesota has one of the lowest kindergarten measles vaccination rates in the nation.

The Health Department says the state experienced one of the largest drops compared with its pre-pandemic level, from just over 92 percent to 86 percent. That’s well below the U.S. average.

The steepest decline in kindergarten rates has been in private and charter schools.

Twenty-four cases of measles have been confirmed in Minnesota this year.
