Baesler sworn in at the U.S. Department of Education

WASHINGTON – Former North Dakota Superintendent of Public Instruction Kirsten Baesler has been sworn in at the U.S. Department of Education.

She was sworn in by Secretary of Education Linda McMahon and joined by her sons, Lee, Mitchel and Chancellor.

Baesler started her work as the Assistant Secretary of Elementary and Secondary Education after being nominated by President Donald J. Trump in February before being confirmed by the United States Senate in October.

In her former role, Baesler was the nation’s longest-serving state education chief.
