1st snow of the season leading to slick travel with BLIZZARD conditions south

Heavy snow continues to fall this afternoon from Lisbon through Abercrombie and points south with BLIZZARD conditions into areas around Sisseton while the N. Valley isn’t seeing much at all.   Much of the accumulating snow is falling along and south of I-94 and will continue though the evening hours.   Winds will increase this afternoon along with temps falling into the 20s causing blowing and drifting of the snow and deteriorating road conditions.  As of noon, here is what roads across the state look like:

Snow and blowing snow continue though the evening hours with heavy snow in the S. Valley and into Lakes country!! For current road reports for ND/MN and SD: https://travel.dot.nd.gov/   

Snow will wind down around 8pm with blowing/drifting continuing throughout the early overnight hours. Total snowfall will vary from less than 1″ around Grand Forks….3-4″ around the F/M area and 6+ from Lisbon east through Lakes country.
