MOORHEAD, Minn. – Moorhead Mayor Shelly Carlson has announced her campaign for Minnesota House of Representatives District 4A which covers most of the city.
“I’m running because I believe in the power of partnerships. I believe in the power of collaboration over division. And I believe elected leaders should show up, listen, and deliver for the people they represent,” Carlson wrote on her campaign website.
Carlson is running for the Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party endorsement and said she will focus on continuing to make Moorhead a safe, thriving and healthy community in Saint Paul if elected. On her website, Carlson has touted her leadership in improving the city including with the downtown revitalization project, construction an underpass on 11th Street and building a new library and community center.
The Minnesota House District 4A seat is open because DFL State Representative Heather Keeler is running for Congress for Republican Congresswoman Michelle Fischbach’s seat.
