WEST FARGO, N.D. – West Fargo Police arrest a man after he assaults another man and then stole his vehicle.
Police were called to the 2900 block of 7th Street West at 7:15 p.m. Thursday for a disturbance. They learned a male suspect assaulted another man before stealing his vehicle.
Police located the suspect vehicle about 25 minutes later near the scene and attempted a traffic stop. The vehicle fled authorities and soon after crashed into a tree and nearby residence. Minor damage was suffered to the house, located near the intersection of Kensington Drive and Hidden Circle.
Police arrested 35-year-old Dennis Jones, of Boulder, Colo., for felonies of fleeing a peace officer and theft of a motor vehicle. He also was charged with driving under suspension, a protection order violation and domestic violence assault – bodily injury.
The man who was assaulted was taken to a local hospital for treatment of injuries.
