Wrigley releases North Dakota’s 2024 crime stats

BISMARCK, N.D. – North Dakota’s Attorney General has released the state’s 2024 crime stats and has made an observation when reviewing them.

“It’s important to note that the crime level in North Dakota, it does appear, we’re in a multi-year plateau,” Attorney General Drew Wrigley said.

In 2024, 45,964 Group A offenses were reported by local law enforcement agencies. These offenses include crimes against persons, property and society.

Violent crime remains at a very high level, Wrigley said. North Dakota recorded 19 murders in 2024, along with seven cases of negligent manslaughter.

He calls the high rates ‘a new normal.’

More than 30,000 people were arrested in 2024 – a majority of them adults.
