Twins and reliever Rogers reunite with one year deal

On Thursday, January 22 the Minnesota Twins came to terms with 35-year-old left-handed relief pitcher, Taylor Rogers. The contract is for one year and worth $2 million per MLB.com’s Mark Feinsand. The deal is pending a physical.

This is Rogers’ second stint with the Twins as he began his big league career with Minnesota from 2016-21. Over the past four seasons he split time with the San Diego Padres, San Franciso Giants, Cincinnati Reds, and Chicago Cubs.

Rogers had a promising start to the 2025 season posting a 2.45 earned run average (ERA) with 34 strikeouts over 33 innings of work. Then he was traded to Chicago, where he spent the remainder of the season. Rogers struggled with the Cubs totaling a 5.09 ERA over only 17 2/3 innings of work.

Throughout his 10 season big league career, Rogers has pitched in 566 games. In those game he tossed 541 1/3 innings with a 3.34 ERA. Additionally, he has posted a 31-36 record along with 626 strikeouts.

Rogers is slated to report to Spring Training in Fort Myers, Fla. on Thursday, February 12 along with the rest of Minnesota’s pitchers and catchers. Full squad workouts are scheduled to begin on Monday, February 16.
