UPDATE: The Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office has identified the man who died as 73-year-old David Hanes.
OTTER TAIL COUNTY, Minn. – A Wadena man is dead after an Otter Tail County house fire on Thursday, January 29.
Fire crews responded to the 32000 block of County Road 77 in Compton Township west of Wadena around 7:30 PM.
The Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office said they found a 73-year-old man unresponsive and a dog that died in the home. The man was taken to a Wadena hospital where he died.
Authorities say the fire is not suspicious and the house is a total loss.
The fire is under investigation by the Minnesota Fire Marshal.
