On Tuesday, the National Collegiate Hockey Conference announced University of North Dakota men’s hockey defenseman, Abram Wiebe, as the leagues Defenseman of the Week. He has now earned this honor in back-to-back weeks.
Wiebe recorded a pair of points on a game-winning goal and an assist in last weekends sweep over No. 20 Miami. He also blocked three shots while recording a +1 rating in the plus/minus rating. The Junior is fifth among NCHC defensemen with 21 total points on four goals and 17 assists.
No. 3 North Dakota will now host St. Cloud State in a weekend series beginning on Friday with the puck drop scheduled for 7:07 p.m.
